The House is closed each Friday and Saturday but will open on Bank Holiday Saturday 1st May and Bank Holiday Saturday 28th August.

During school holidays, Bank Holiday weekends and other busy times, access to the House is on a free flow basis. Knowledgeable guides are positioned in each of the main rooms and are always happy to answer questions.

On quieter days, access to the House is by guided visit. Wilton House Guides accompany visitors through the main state rooms, leaving the rest of the House to be visited on a free flow basis. Guided visits start every 30 minutes from the Front Hall and last approximately 40 minutes.

The first guided visit of the day is at 11.30am. Visitors can book places on a tour of their choice on arrival at Admissions. Places are limited to 20 on each tour and are allocated on a “first come first served” basis. Please telephone for further details.

The Wilton House Guide Book costs £5 and can be bought in our Shop, or in the Front Hall of the House. It may also be purchased in advance at a cost of £6 to include UK postage. Please enquire for overseas postage rates.
